The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim “Ultimate Vinyl Edition” 4 LP Box Set “Sweet Roll” Variant by SpaceLab9
We recently discovered that in 2017, the SpaceLab9 booth at New York Comic Con sold an extremely limited edition Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Ultimate Vinyl collection etched to look like the famous sweet rolls from the game. The collection, which was limited to only 95 copies, contains the full 52-tracks found in the game. The moment we learned it existed, we knew we had to have it. After some searching, in June 2020 we were able to track down one of those boxed sets. We immediately bought it for our music collection.
It’s hard to overstate how much this discovery and acquisition delighted us. It arrived this afternoon and we felt like kids at Christmas. During the earlier days of this blog I often posted updates of my progress developing my mage character in between posts about investing, finance, economics, and whatever businesses we were starting at that time. Seven years ago, I even wrote about spotting the perfect display dome for Skyrim sweet rolls if you were inclined to bake them. Aaron and I put so many hours into the game that it is part of the backdrop of our lives during that time; a soundtrack that transports us to a different period and brings back a lot of fond memories.
Here is the sealed package in which the LP collection arrived …
… and here is what it looked like once we had opened it.
The reverse contains the entire 52-track listing.
Inside the exterior box is an interior box that contains more artwork and which holds the vinyl LPs themselves …

Flipping it open …
… more artwork …
… the vinyl LPs themselves are gorgeous. They catch the light beautifully and do, in fact, look like they were inspired by frosted sweet rolls!
… an even closer close-up …
Another of the vinyl LPs to show the variance in the design …
… more interior artwork …
I realize now I didn’t take a picture of the 6th inside artwork or the back cover of the interior box but both are visible in the YouTube video I posted at the top of this page. The final side of the final vinyl LP is an artist etching with the Skyrim logo. You can’t see it particularly well in this photograph but it’s quite nicely done.
… surveying the disks as I took them out and examined them …
… another shot because they bring me so much joy …
The company behind this set posted an unboxing video:
My favorite songs from the Skyrim soundtrack include Far Horizons …
… and Distant Horizons:
… and Frostfall. I listen to this one quite a lot from time to time, usually in the winter while I work.
… and Aurora:
I imagine that these tracks are going to be in heavy rotation on the days we work from home.
I know there are a lot of other Elder Scrolls: Skyrim fans in the community so I’ll add this: If you are interested in finding one of the other 94 sets that are floating around out there in the world for yourself, I wish you the best of luck! If you find a set in good condition, I suggest you go for it because you may not have very many chances in the future. Transparency in the market isn’t high given the tiny amount of them made (it can be confusing because there are several similar sets in the series that are not the Sweet Roll Edition so you must be extra vigilant you are buying what you think you are buying).
