Our Second Child, Graham Forester Kennon-Green, Was Born!
We are Dads! Again! Aaron and I are ecstatic to share with you that our second son, Graham Forester Kennon-Green, was born earlier this month. Unlike his brother, Dorian, who arrived at the full 40 weeks weighing 7 lbs. 5 ounces back in April, Graham arrived three weeks ahead of schedule at 37 weeks and 1 day, but weighed in at 8 lbs. 3 ounces.
We are especially grateful to the gestational surrogate who helped us bring Graham into the world after we entrusted the embryo to her earlier this year. She is amazing, kind, and thoughtful. So, too, is her family. We can’t say much more for privacy reasons but words can never fully express the joy she’s made possible.
The Longer Post About the Experience Will Need to Wait for the Future …
I had originally wanted to write a long post detailing our experience surrounding the birth similar to the one I wrote in the Spring but that can’t happen at the moment for a few reasons. Notably, the last time I made an announcement about our family, I waited for around three months after the birth, giving me time to gather pictures and write the text. This time around, I’m sharing the news less than three weeks later. That means we are still very much in the thick of the newborn phase. Thankfully, since we just went through it earlier this year, it’s much easier this time around as we are already familiar with the details but it definitely is taking up all our personal time.
Also, after Graham’s arrival, Aaron and I are putting in massive life restructurings so we can maximize the time we are able to spend with the kids without sacrificing anything at Kennon-Green & Co. That means a lot of late night projects on my part as I line up vendors and advisors to help in various areas. If I’m not working on that, I usually need to be holding one or both boys. For example, it is a Saturday night but in writing the last paragraph, I had to take a twenty minute break to hold Graham while Aaron put Dorian to bed.
For now, what matters is this: We are home, we are safe, and life is good. Aaron and I feel like two of the most blessed men in the world.
The next big item on my agenda is to get Graham’s investment portfolio started like we did for his brother! We need to help him start his compounding machine!
